"Kansans and the Places that We Love"

Concordia - Friends of Brown Grand Theater - 2007 celebrating the Theater's 100th Birthday.  The building has been on the National Register of Historic Places for 30 years.  (Photo by Jessica LeDue)

McPherson - John Holecek, Director of Development for the McPherson Opera House Company, explains the many benefits a rehabilitated Opera House will bring to the community.  The slated completion date is early 2009.

La Crosse Museum Complex - The only bank museum in Kansas and the last wooden bank that operated as a bank in Kansas.  Much of the interior is as it was the day the bank doors closed.  The Rush County Historical Society is very proud of saving it ~~ with the extraordinary voluntary help of many local craftsmen.

Kismet - Lidia Gray and the tallest thing she has ever purchased.  The grain elevator was scheduled to be torn down when Lidia bought it.  She cleaned out the really big rats, shoveled out the pigeon droppings and got the elevator back into good condition for preservation's sake.  It also serves as a really cool look-out tower.
